detours
Last weekend, Gabe and I drove down to East Aurora to photograph a beautiful wedding. We decided to make a few stops before heading home the next day to make a mini road trip out of it. We went to Lake Effect diner for a well deserved breakfast and crossed the border to drop by Niagara Falls.
It was such a beautiful sunny day, Gabe mentioned that he had never visited the Falls on such a clear day. I don't remember the last time I went to see the Falls to be honest, it is somewhere our parents brought us to when relatives came to visit Toronto and they would buy us ice cream. It was fun to visit on our own. We took a lot of photos, had ice cream, and I bought some enamel pins home.
We didn't go on the Maid of the Mist. I'll save that for next time with Ellie and Jin.
These are so beautiful. I love the motel shot.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a fun detour! I haven't been to the falls in years, but it's always a treat. (Hi Gabe!)
ReplyDeleteI've never gone! Looks beautiful.
ReplyDeletei really loved the natural beauty of the falls when i was there! i just wish i hadn't worn leather sandals on the maid of the mist...so i will pass along the advice to wear shoes that are plastic (or cotton) on the boat! you will get soaked, and they won't let you take your shoes off, so wear ones that can get wet... :)
ReplyDeletealso, i LOVE that diner! i wish i'd stumbled upon it while visiting the area...it looks like my kinda place.
the scenery is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love these shots!
ReplyDeletei adore the story these photos tell. so much life and excitement and nature
