Well, first I said "No! I can't take it!" but she insisted.
Being gifted a camera is a rare and beautiful thing, and I have a special fondness for the Lomo LC-A too. I borrowed it from Gabe some years ago and that was my first exposure to film photography. I was instantly in love.
I had always wanted an LC-A since then, but to have a friend drop my first love (in camera form) into my lap, well that is just my dream come true.
I am testing out my first roll right now. In the meantime, you can see my first LC-A photos here.

Such a nice present! Some of our best pics have come from this camera (see Anabela's Chicago and Portland pics) but we haven't used it recently after some film jammed in it. I look forward to seeing what you do with it!

ReplyDeletei'm really looking forward to seeing how the shots turn out! i've been thinking about getting a 'modern' medium-format camera (i've got a verrrry old one that i'm using now, that's tough to use), but i haven't decided if i want to splurge yet. maybe i just need to suck it up and take the plunge? :) anyway, lucky you!! (that wrapping is SO adorable, too!)

ReplyDeleteSo, so fun! I loved going through that roll on flickr. My stepdad recently found me an old film camera for $4 at a thrift store, in perfect condition, and it even came with 4 different lenses. Thank you, camera gods!
