India: Part 2

Being on the road seems like a big part of life in India and if I had to drive on those roads, I would not survive! Lines on the road are barely suggestions to drivers and driving into oncoming traffic to pass others is quite normal. After awhile, I just learned to look out the window and not straight ahead. Besides, there was lots to see.

Tuk-tuk's, entire families on scooters, cows. And everyone is encouraged to honk.

India: part 1

India is the first place I have been to where I really felt culture shock.

Everything was foreign to me. It was an interesting feeling.

We spent the first half of the trip in New Delhi which was a level of noise and crowds I am not accustomed to. My priority was to buy some things to wear for the wedding and whatever else we do is a bonus. We didn't really do much else (we took it easy since we were travelling with Eloise) but walking down the street or riding in a car would be an adventure.

Eloise was calm and happily sitting in our arms the entire time. She had her first fever in India which gave us a scare, but she got better just in time for the wedding.

They say nothing can really prepare you for India and it is true. But now that we've had a little taste of it, we'd love to go back again some day.

7 months

We are taking this week to decompress from our trip. I am still jetlagged and Eloise's schedule is somewhere between India and Toronto time.

This little world traveler is 7 months today. She made us look like superstar parents at the wedding in India but really, her good demeanor has little to do with us. We are so blessed to have this lovely baby.
