in the olden days...

old nails

...they assembled houses with nails like this.

They are substantial in weight, and they make clinking noises when I toss them in my hand.

I picture myself trying to hammer this into a piece of wood, and I chuckle. I think I would struggle a bit,

or a lot.

They don't make nails like this anymore.

I really like them.

  3. lol, in the future when all our houses are held together with super glue (by then it will be REALLY super glue), your kids will look at our nails today and say the exact same thing.

  5. PUT THOSE IN A SHADOW BOX AND KEEP THEM ON DISPLAY!!
Would be such a neat homage to the walls you live in.

  6. jenna! yes! character is what they certainly have.

Yukiko! the new house is great! When are you going to come visit?

Matt! I am learning that things ARE put together with a lot of super glue! It's amazing...and scary! Somehow, I still think nails are more reliable.

Melissa! our contractor saved them for me when he carefully took apart some door trims that he will be using later agan. He's so nice! he knows I like these things! Who doesn't?!

Jason! good idea! I have some other things I have to frame too, that we found while gutting the house.
