Sarah & Benjamin are married

When I first met Sarah and Benjamin, they told me they wanted a simple, small brunch wedding with 50 of their closest family and friends. My ears heard brunch and I immediately knew these two were amazing.

They were trying to figure out how they could have their wedding at Riverdale Farm as that is their favourite spot in the city. Since the Farm does not hold such events, they thought of the next best thing. They rented a house just walking distance from the Farm in the beautiful neighbourhood of Riverdale for their reception, and held the ceremony in Wellesley Park.

These two kept me smiling the entire day. When they asked if we could photograph them putting temporary tattoos on in the morning, I knew it was going to be a special day. Sarah and Benjamin sealed their love for vegetables with tattoos close to their hearts on their wedding day. A tomato for her, and broccoli for him.

Upon arriving at the ceremony at the park, we found out that they were to be officiated by the same person who married Jin and I four years ago! And instead of throwing flower petals at the end of the ceremony, they threw lavender (the sweetest!). Brunch was held at the house and spilled out onto the street with friendly neighbours congratulating the family and friends (and some tried to get invited to the affair as well!).

Thank you for inviting me to be part of your day Sarah and Benjamin! In my heart, it was the perfect wedding.

Ombre Cross Quilt back

Ombre Cross Quilt complete

Now that Eloise is starting to notice objects around her, she is starting to play with the soft blocks Juli and I made so long ago. It makes me a little proud!

And during Eloise's naps, I was finally able to finish her ombre cross quilt. I finished hand quilting and binding the quilt before she was born but it took me some time to put her label on. While we had her first name decided well before she was born, her middle name took us some time. Since she is half Chinese and half Korean, we wanted her middle name to be her Chinese/Korean name that would work in both languages. Both Jin's parents and my parents put their heads together and came up with something that sounded beautiful in Chinese and Korean.

For now, we do a lot of tummy time on the quilt! I'm excited to see how she'll use it in the future!

They said that it only gets better.

When I heard that in the first few weeks, my reaction was "I really hope so". The beginning was tough.

At 3 months, I quietly did not believe them because it was already so good, how could it get even better?

Today is 5 months, all we do is giggle and play and every time she smiles at me, I feel like my heart will explode.

They were right. It just keeps getting better.
