favourite spots
They have their favourite spots around the house, and they rotate between them.
Lately, they like to hang out all day on our bed, or around it.
I like our yellow sheets. They make the room feel really sunny. That is important for this time of year as our time with the sun decreases.
Thank you for all your really sweet comments and e-mails on Melinda + Chris's engagement session! I had a really amazing week because of it!

Melinda + Chris are tying the knot : part 1
Next year, Melinda + Chris are tying the knot, and I get the absolute privilege and honour to photograph their wedding!
(insert squeals of excitement, here)
I was delighted when they approached me with the idea of shooting their wedding, and I suggested that we do an engagement shoot before the weather gets colder. I love engagement shoots because it is so different from photographing a wedding. We can basically do whatever we want! Melinda and Chris came up with a few ideas, and it ended up being an engagement shoot with two parts.
This is part 1 of Melinda + Chris. They were so much fun to work with, I was laughing during the whole session!
I can’t wait to show you part 2!

scrabble in the park
Jaime and Joseph invited us to play Scrabble in the park. I was excited because I love any excuse to spend time in my favourite park, and this excuse was particularly cute!
Jin made sure that he was appropriately dressed for the occasion.
Jin and I have never played Scrabble before. We had so much fun playing 'America's good-time game' with Jaime and Joseph, I am thinking of getting a board for ourselves to practice getting to those triple word scores!

stationary for me
I can’t wait to use these!
A couple of weeks ago, I won Arounna and John’s amazing giveaway for a set of personalized letterpress stationary cards! I have been thinking about business cards for myself lately and this giveaway is sort of perfect!! Thank you so much!
This giveaway was for Liam’s first day of school in Junior Kindergarten, and that was exactly 2 days ago! I hope it was an amazing first day of school and I hope it has been an amazing first week!
Thank you so very very much for your warm words for our cotton anniversary! You repeatedly brought big smiles to our faces, and it made our anniversary very special!

cotton anniversary
Today, we have been married for 2 years, and we celebrated by having a big ball of cotton candy! It is our cotton anniversary after all.
We took anniversary photos last year, and it was so much fun! Famapa gave us the brilliant idea to do it every year! We thought it would be fun to take it at the midway this year!
Jinny, I can't believe it has been 2 years already. I am thankful for so many things, like, how you always volunteer to do the not-so-pleasant things around the house (kitty litter, garbage etc.) so that I do not have to see it! And you always make tea for me on the weekends. And you always take me to bed whenever I fall asleep on the couch, or at my desk....what would I do without you? But the most important thing is, I am so thankful we always love eachother so well. Happy anniversary, Jinny!
These beautiful photos are taken by my brother, who is a very talented photographer! Thank you Henry!

canning, demystified
I have wanted to learn how to preserve food by canning for a little while now. My first experience with canning was making cinnamon plum jam last year with Melinda (yum!), but I still haven't tried it on my own yet.
Last weekend, Melinda and her friend Jen, had me over to can 2 bushels of tomatoes! 2 bushels = 106 lbs of tomatoes, and we peeled and canned all of them! I will show you all the goodies we made when I go to pick up the jars next week!
After working on 2 bushels of tomatoes with friends, I was confident to try this on my own. A couple of days ago, I picked 4 lbs of grapes from our backyard (they are ripe now!) and successfully made grape jelly! The outcome is such a beautiful shade of purple!
If the squirrels haven't gotten to all of them yet, I still have some grapes left. I hope to make grape juice with the remainder of our crop!
