soft blocks for baby

back of quilt

A few weeks ago, Juli came over for some baby crafting and we made some soft blocks for our little ladies! It was so fun to hang out and be able to complete something in one night, mind you, it took us longer than you'd think to complete 3 blocks! I found this very satisfying project through Tanya when she made her own soft blocks for her little baby boy last year! We followed suit and stuffed little bells inside our blocks as well!

I am so happy I was finally able to put my Kitty Buds Fabric by Melinda to some very good use!

The baby quilt is coming along nicely. I like looking at the back of the quilt, it's the portion that no one ever gets to see. It is so fun to see each piece slowly coming together!

  1. i can't wait to see the front of the quilt!

  2. Beautiful photographs, they seem so relaxing! It seems like the baby crafting was quite successful and the blocks are really adorable. Hope you've been having a pleasant week! xx

  3. Hi Celine, nice to meet you. Your blog is wonderfull and also your blocks!

  4. Can't wait to see the quilt front either!

  5. De-lurking to say: I've been following your blog for some time, and can't wait to 'meet' the little char siu bao! You've got a beautiful blog with lovely pictures :) And the crafting makes this wonderful and expectant period of your life look so peaceful and nice...

What are the little loops on the edges of the blocks for, may I ask?

    1. so nice of you to come say hello! Hello!
The little loops I think, are for the baby to grab onto and bite and chew!

  6. They look so sweet! And I'm so glad you found a project for that fabric! ;)

  7. lurve the fabrics you used for the soft blocks! Marcus is starting to like his own blocks; the bells are a great addition. Your little girl is going to get a kick out of hers too :)

  8. how sweet :^)
can't wait to see the quilt!
