The Love and Rummage 3 Trunk Show happened last Sunday at The Workroom and these are the wonderful things I brought home.

Mini Meow tote with art by Sonja Ahlers from Fieldguided
Birdy heart pin by Bookhou
Vintage stamps from Send More Mail
Hello postcards from DEADWEIGHT

I also got some flowers from Coriander Girl that I gave to Jin's mom after the show! They were beautiful!

I took some photos at the Trunk Show for Toronto Craft Alert. Go see them here!

colours, fantastic

wow, the colours!

I was at Nikole's place a little while ago, and she bought some rhubarb from the market that morning.
Aren't the colours magnificent?
Even the fruits and vegetables she chooses are perfect.

I will be there again for a visit tomorrow. Maybe she will have some jelly left, or some tarts?

Also, it's Friday!

I hope you get your hands on some delicious sweets.
Have a great weekend!

playing with mirrors

mirror mirror

Do you remember that pretty little compact May gave me?

I have been playing with it.

I knew that if you wanted to focus on a subject in a mirror, you have to take the distance of the subject to the mirror, and multiply it by 2. This is my first time trying it manually.

It makes sense doesn't it? I had so much fun with it.

I made a small "about" page
here. There isn’t much on it, but I hope to add more later on.

You know that spectacular birthday party in my last post? Go see more great pictures from Erica, Anabela and Karyn if you already haven’t!

Geoff introduced me to their friend Johan, who is an incredibly talented photographer. He showed me some of his work, and I felt really inspired. He has a show coming up at Pikto Gallery at the end of March, and I can't wait to go see it. Do drop by if you are in the city on March 26th!

I do not usually pay too much attention to camera equipment, but I am now lusting for a new lens. Which one? I am not sure yet.

featured on KITKA

display

Juli and John run the amazing Toronto design blog, KITKA. I love their blog because, they make me aware of where to find some amazing local vintage furniture (currently, I have been searching for lighting), and they always post up the most inspiring images of architecture and interiors, and it always makes me itch to build something for our apartment (or, knock down some walls, if we could!). But most importantly, their blog makes me realize more and more that this city I call home, is such an amazing place to be.

Today, Juli and John are featuring our orange bookshelves on KITKA!

Wow! Thank you! Go over there to see more images of our metal library shelves.

quilt back

Lately, I have been able to set some time aside, and work on my second quilt. The last time I left it, I finished the quilt top, and basted all three layers together. From then till now, I have been working on hand quilting the yellow triangles, and I finally finished them! Now I am able to sit down for several hours at a time and hand quilt in straight lines to my hearts content! I can finish a row in one sitting, two if I am quick! With any luck, I can finish this by christmas.....but it looks like my schedule is starting to get busy again in October and on! We will have to see!

I still have to choose a fabric for the binding. I love this one so much, but I am afraid it would look terrible with my quilt, because I already have the purple version of that fabric in the quilt body.

I forgot to mention this in my last post. Sandi posted about my little blog, in her lovely blog. I just wanted to say, merci Sandi!

Thank you for the lovely lot of comments on my previous post on correspondence! We should send more letters in the mail. I would love to see pictures of your pretty packaging you send to your lucky friends!

Apartment Therapy

apartment therapy

That cottage again.

Apartment Therapy posted about the cottage in PEI probably a few weeks after we came back from our trip, but it took me a little while to find it. I like what Beth Zeigler wrote about the cottage, nice and concise, and it is said in words better than mine. Thanks Beth, for having me on AT!

The first person who commented on this post said my photos "look like a horror movie set up or something". That person is not entirely wrong, I was pretty spooked in this house for a couple of days, and I wouldn't go upstairs unless Jin was with me. But it is still the most beautiful cottage I have ever been to.

Last Friday, was the beginning of the end of summer for me. Gabe and I finished the last wedding of the summer season. For the rest of the year, our photography schedule will be a bit more relaxed. I had such a great time going to other people’s weddings this summer! I learned so much about photography, but I feel like I have only seen the tip of the iceberg! Thank you Gabe, for teaching me so much, and taking me under your wing. He has such a great eye for photography and composition, I truely admire his incredible talents.

The best part about photographing weddings is that we get to be part of one of the most important days of these people’s lives! Everyone is always in a happy mood, and all I can do, is be happy with them! The happiness is contagious!

These are some of my favourite photos from our weddings this year, of course, I would love to show you all of my favourites, but there are far too many! Gabe has posted some more photos from the weddings and engagements this year on his flickr, take a look! They are so beautiful!

Also, go see his wedding photography website to see some of his weddings from past years, including some photos from my own wedding last year. See if you can spot me and Jinny.

au revoir summer. see you again soon.
