August's First Birthday

A few weeks ago, I photographed this handsome boy's first birthday. His parents, Jane and Andrew put together a wonderful party and a Dol ceremony as well. A Dol is a traditional Korean ceremony that celebrates the first birthday of a baby and blesses them with a prosperous future. August was put in front of a number of objects and depending on what he selects, that will foretell his future. August picked a calligraphy brush and some coins which means he will be a wealthy scholar!

This party got me thinking of Eloise's first birthday which is coming up soon! I wasn't going to do much but after attending August's party, I am inspired!

Happy birthday sweet little August!

10 months

10 little fingers and 10 little toes,

this little lady is already 10 months old!


How is it possible that she is in the double digits already? Soon she will be 1 years old going on to 30! I treasure this first year with her so much, I cannot believe it has gone by so fast. This might be selfish but I tell her to stop growing every morning, she never listens.

She just got her first tooth coming up and she is figuring out how to crawl, and she babbles all day long! It's the cutest!

After the snow storm

The whole city was out yesterday after Friday's very big snowfall, it was the prettiest sight. I love a good snowstorm and the sunny days that follow it.

We put on our winter boots, strapped Ellie onto Jin and headed out to enjoy winter. Jin spotted an icicle hanging from the sky, we wondered how it got there.

We made our way through the park and shared some fish n' chips at Chippy's while Ellie said hello to all the people passing by.

Pretty perfect day.

story time

Saturdays and Sundays are for Jinny to read to Ellie. Jin's sister sends over some Korean picture books and this one in particular is very funny. I love the faces, one of them is a "pooing" face. I'll let you guess which one that is!

Also once a week, we go to the library for story time and songs and rhymes. I think Ellie likes it but I think she likes watching and being amongst the other babies more!
