We have been shown so much love ever since Eloise came into our lives and when Christmas came, she received some beautiful and thoughtful gifts. This gift in particular is very special to me.

Rosalyn made this sweet play mat for Eloise with a community of houses appliqued onto it. I love the design and the details she put into it (look at the patterns on the roofs!). I can only imagine how much love and heart went into this, I was in shock when we opened this gift.

Because to me, quilts equal love

handmade equals love, and we love you Roz.

Thank you so much Roz! Eloise is so lucky. We are taking this upstairs, downstairs and to the park with us.

Eloise's First Christmas

Things are finally starting to look like Christmas around here!

Our tree is slightly bigger this year so we got some pretty new ornaments from the Drake General Store to add to our collection, but I wanted something to mark Eloise's first Christmas.

I saw this really fun and easy tutorial on Pinterest from A Beautiful Mess that was perfect! While I had all my cookie cutters out, I made a few extra ornaments as well!

It feels great to get back into making things again, I hope Eloise likes crafting as she grows older, we will have so much fun!

There are a lot of cute baby outfits but this is by far the cutest outfit she has, her birthday suit!

Our little lady is 8 months old today.

We love you Eloise. So much.

I had the pleasure of photographing for City of Craft again this year and I am in constant awe at the talent that surrounds us and City of Craft is such a great event to showcase these incredible makers. Every year, I look forward to seeing familiar faces again, making new friends and of course, I always love the opportunity to do a little shopping.

These are the goodies I brought home with me this year.

For Eloise, I brought home some colourful leggings by Supayana to wear this summer, and a La-La Garland by the sweet Selena Wong to hang in her room.

I finally have my own Falconwright! I bought a card holder to carry my business cards in. So excited to wear my beautiful sling shot pin made by Rosalyn Faustino this winter and I scored a vintage pin with the Ontario shield from Civic Trust.

And not pictured here, but I ate 2 Smore cookies from Lois and Carlo at Cookie Friday, I think I need some more Smore cookies in my life. And I will be opening a box with earrings by Rare Specimens for Christmas because I told my brother I liked them. How sweet!

Some photos from the second half of our trip in India. Once we left New Delhi, everything seemed calmer. First we stayed at a village, the total opposite of New Delhi because we barely saw people walking on the roads. Then we headed to Patiala where we stayed in a 19th century palace turned into a hotel (the most beautiful hotel I have ever spent a few nights in). We even got to see some tourist spots in between all the wedding activities.

It was a trip of a lifetime for sure and it was exactly how people told me it would be, that India is full of extremes. The people can be extremely aggressive or extremely warm and welcoming, and the streets can be extremely dirty and the sights are extremely beautiful, and you can find extreme chaos or total calm. But I really didn't understand what they meant until we experienced it, and we only saw the tip of the iceberg. I'd love to go back one day again. Maybe when Eloise is old enough to remember.

Look for the photos from the wedding in a few weeks, maybe even in the new year.

Being on the road seems like a big part of life in India and if I had to drive on those roads, I would not survive! Lines on the road are barely suggestions to drivers and driving into oncoming traffic to pass others is quite normal. After awhile, I just learned to look out the window and not straight ahead. Besides, there was lots to see.

Tuk-tuk's, entire families on scooters, cows. And everyone is encouraged to honk.
