japanese dress books

starting a dress

I took a dressmaking class at
The Workroom that uses patterns from a beautiful japanese dress book of your choice.

Boy am I glad I took it. The books looked so intimidating at first (with my limited sewing skills, and the books being in japanese), but Karyn taught us how to understand it, and use it. Thanks to Karyn, I have now completed my very first dress, ever!

I am excited to show you, later on this week.

  5. yay! finally! can't wait to see the finished dress! I got as far as making huge photo copies of the patterns (and I did sewing course as well - but I never got a sewing machine so I never got anywhere) :(

and in answer to your question: oomoo likes his baths, he doesn't LOVE them but he doesn't hate them either, I'm sure he'll enjoy them more when he can sit up and splash the water like there's no tomorrow!

  6. Oh that's amazing!! I have that book as well as a bag book, and want to make something of it so badly... but can't and don't know how!! I wish I lived where you were so I could take a class like that. Now they'll just have to sit on my desk and collect dust... sigh. Perhaps I'll try to decipher it on my own? Is that possible? I can't wait to see your dress!
